While technically the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor is available to be prescribed from the 1st April, wide availability is not expected until June 2024, once GP systems have been updated. So until then your healthcare team might not be able to prescribe it.

To allow as many people as possible living with diabetes to access and benefit from the advancements of the technology, Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor is the same price per day as the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor.
The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor can be worn up to 15 days and is indicated for children 2 years and older, whereas the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor can be worn for up to 14 days and is indicated for children 4 years and older. The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor also demonstrates outstanding 15-day accuracy.1

Abbott is always innovating. We’re delighted that, in the UK, the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor is now available on prescription and wide availability is expected from June 2024, once GP systems have been updated. Over time, the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor will replace the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor.
