The FreeStyle Libre systems^ have been studied in two landmark randomized controlled trials (RCTs) which demonstrated improvements in diabetes outcomes for both Type 1 and Type 2 patients with diabetes, those are:

^ The data from this study was collected using the FreeStyle Libre system. Sale of the original FreeStyle Libre System has been discontinued in the UK market. The FreeStyle Libre 2 or FreeStyle Libre 3 system has the same features as the FreeStyle Libre system with the added functionalities of optional real-time alarms, therefore the study data is applicable to both products.
