Why has my sensor stopped working?
FreeStyle Libre systems are designed to give you accurate glucose readings. By design, the sensor runs safety and diagnostics checks every minute to make sure the system is working optimally. If the sensor is unable to provide a glucose reading in that moment, a “sensor error” message will appear. This is a temporary condition which could happen during a period of intense exercise, for example. For the FreeStyle Libre system, simply wait the duration specified on the screen and scan again. In the rare event that the sensor is not functioning as intended, you will receive a “replace sensor” message on your reader.5,212 In this situation, the sensor will be shut off and you will need to apply a new sensor.
