Calibration is a process that most continuous sugar monitoring devices must go through that matches the sugar readings from the Sensor with a standard reference to ensure the devices are accurate. Unlike most other CGM systems, the FreeStyle Libre system is a factory-calibrated flash sugar monitoring system, and it does not require patients to do on-going fingerstick testing with a BGM device to be accurate.
