What can I do to help prevent skin reactions while wearing the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor?

Be proactive. If you have a history of sensitivity to adhesives, let your healthcare provider know before application.

  • Start with a clean slate. Use non-moisturizing, fragrance-free soap to wash the area where you’ll apply the sensor. Follow up with an alcohol wipe to remove oils, and let the skin air-dry fully before application1.

  • Select the correct site. Avoid scars, moles, stretch marks, and lumps1.

  • Dress for (sensor) success. Avoid tight clothing or accessories that may rub against the sensor once it is placed1.

  • Rotate the placement site for each new sensor1.
