Is keeping devices within Bluetooth range so that there are no data gaps for caregivers a standard requirement for sensors and AID systems?

The requirement to have the Omnipod 5 Controller within Bluetooth range of the pod is standard for caregiver use, as data needs to move through the Cloud to reach the caregiver. Both LibreLinkUp* app and Omnipod 5 Controller devices must also be connected to the internet. This is similar to the standalone FreeStyle Libre systems and other sensor/AID1,2,3 systems for caregiver use, as the patient needs to have the device (smartphone or Controller) within Bluetooth connection of the sensor to send data to the Cloud.

* Check the Support section of www.librelinkup.com for information about mobile device and operating system compatibility. LibreLinkUp is not intended to be used for dosing decisions or to replace self-monitoring practices as advised by a physician and requires registration with LibreView.
