Do not ignore symptoms that may be due to low or high blood glucose. If you have symptoms that do not match the Sensor glucose reading or suspect that your reading may be inaccurate, check the reading by conducting a finger stick test using a blood glucose meter. If you are experiencing symptoms that are not consistent with your glucose readings, consult your health care professional.

How does the FreeStyle Libre system work?

To obtain a glucose reading, users simply perform a quick, painlessa 1-second scan of the Reader over the Sensor. This easy scan gives user more information than blood glucose monitoring without the need for finger prickingb. The FreeStyle Libre system also offers software to generate concise reports that provide a clear analysis of the user’s glucose data.1

a. In a study conducted by Abbott Diabetes Care, 92% of patients surveyed (n=119) patients agree that it was painless or almost painless to apply the sensor.

b. Finger pricks are required if glucose readings do not match symptoms or expectations.2
