Do not ignore symptoms that may be due to low or high blood glucose. If you have symptoms that do not match the Sensor glucose reading or suspect that your reading may be inaccurate, check the reading by conducting a finger stick test using a blood glucose meter. If you are experiencing symptoms that are not consistent with your glucose readings, consult your health care professional.

Why is there no alarm for severe low glucose?

The FreeStyle Libre 2 system offers a simplified alarm experience. The FreeStyle Libre 2 system offers three real-time optional alarms – high glucose, low glucose, and signal loss. The alarm level is initially set to 70 mg/dL, the user can use the arrows to change this value between 60 mg/dL and 100 mg/dL. FreeStyle Libre 2 is the only sensor-based system with optional alarms that measures glucose every minute. If the alarm is on, the user will be notified the minute their glucose falls below the set level. This provides users with the flexibility of choosing to enable the real-time optional alarms and set the desired value for notification. When glucose is dropping rapidly a safety check every minute matters. Alarm values can be adjusted by the user.
