Does the FreeStyle Libre 2 system have the same indications as the FreeStyle Libre system?

Do not ignore symptoms that may be due to low or high blood glucose. If you have symptoms that do not match the Sensor glucose reading or suspect that your reading may be inaccurate, check the reading by conducting a finger stick test using a blood glucose meter. If you are experiencing symptoms that are not consistent with your glucose readings, consult your health care professional.

Does the FreeStyle Libre 2 system have the same indications as the FreeStyle Libre system?

In addition to the indications for the FreeStyle Libre system, the FreeStyle Libre 2 system is also indicated for use in patients 4 years old and up. FreeStyle Libre 2 provides access to pediatric patients and people with diabetes who want or need optional alarms.

*For children aged 4-12, a caregiver at least 18 years old is responsible for supervising, managing, and assisting them in using the FreeStyle Libre system and interpreting its readings.
