All glucose monitoring devices require calibration to maintain accuracy using one of two methods: patient calibration or factory calibration. Unlike some of the other sensor-based glucose monitoring systems currently available, the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is factory calibrated and requires no fingerprick calibrations during the 15-day wear period.
